c.8th/9th Century A.D. A pleasant Mid-Anglo Saxon Silver Zoomorphic strap end found in Norfolk. Of typical form with a tapering stylised Zoomorphic terminal meant to represent a rodent like head and inset panel on top surface featuring an engraved interwining geometric patterning of recognisable Saxon style. Plate with two small rivet holes at butt end for affixing to the end of a thin leather strap. Upper rivet plate now lost and surface pitting / roughness /discolouration in parts but otherwise intact and good and a pleasant and affordable piece of Saxon silver adornment, 37mm long x 13mm at widest.
