Product Description

c.10th Century A.D. A pleasant Late Anglo Saxon bronze Zoomorphic strap end found in Cambridgeshire. Of typically simple form with simple decorative impressed bands across its width in three places and a tapering stylised Zoomorphic terminal meant to represent a rodent like head. Bi-furcated at base with small central rivet in situe whe it was affixed to a narrow leather strap. Intact with very nice metal and good surfaces and a deep shiny dark olive green patina, a very nice example of the type, 41mm long x 9mm at widest.
