c.8000 - 6000 B.C. A pleasant Mesolithic Portland Chert flaked hand pick excavated close to the famous Culverwell habitation site, Portland Bill, Isle of Portland, Dorset and from a Hampshire Geologists collection but originally hailing from an older collection amassed in the 1970's. Clearly worked and well defined, with a pleasant overall whitish patination further enhanced with some light iron oxide highlights, a good example from a famous Mesolithic site, 117mm long x 30mm wide x 30mm deep.
