c.8000 - 6000 B.C. A pleasant Mesolithic Portland Chert Trihedral Borer excavated close to the famous Culverwell habitation site, Portland Bill, Isle of Portland, Dorset and from a Hampshire Geologists collection but originally hailing from an older collection amassed in the 1970's. Clearly worked and nicely defined, with a pleasant overall whitish patination further enhanced with some very light iron oxide highlights, a good example from a famous Mesolithic site, 70mm long x 34mm wide x 28mm deep.
