Late Paleolithic period c.50,000 to 20,000 B.C. A nicely worked and pleasant Small Cordate flint hand axe fashioned from a pleasant cream/light&dark grey flint; well worked, some working to back but largely flat backed but well worked on main upper surface with nicely defined blade edges all around the axe. Excellent and very attractive shiny overall aging and surface patination. Axe originally found in Mildenhall, Suffolk in the early 1900's and from an old Suffolk collection, collection number on one side. A pleasant example, tactile and nice to hold, 73mm long x 68mm at widest x 30mm thick.
