Ptolemaic period c.3rd-1st Century B.C. A pleasant Ancient Egyptian terracotta bust from a votive figure of the infant Horus, depicted in typical fashion holding a finger to his mouth. Found in the mid-20th Century and from an old Hampshire collection. Possibly once part of a votive statuette, once used for placement in a home shrine as an offering and worship. Some light surface wear from its millennia in the sands but facial detail still clear and enigmatic. A pleasant item, supplied with small display box, 60mm x 33mm x 18mm.
