c.3rd-1st Century B.C. A pleasant, robust Ancient Greek terracotta oil lamp found in central Greece many years back and from a Norfolk private collection. Of simple, yet robust form with a deep circular body with protruding elongate spout into which a wick would once have been inserted. Made of redware terracotta but now with pleasant whitish overall appearance due to the adherance of a fine dusting of chalky clay like earth from which it was originally excavated (may clean off if required). Totally intact and in very nice condition with no damage or repair, a pleasant and robust Greek oil lamp, body 60mm diameter, 90mm long to end of spout, 33mm deep.
