c.1st-2nd Century A.D. A pleasant Roman Bronze "T" brooch [Fibula] from North Yorkshire. Deeply arched bow with large catchplate, small crossbar at top featuring knurled finials and a large top loop for attachment to a chain. Very slight kink to catchplate and pin missing otherwise intact and in nice overall condition with good surfaces and a pleasant shiny dark patina. [N.B. White residue on catchplate in photo merely from sticky pad that once held the brooch in a display case, this has now been removed]. A pleasant Roman brooch, 54mm long x 15mm at widest x 22mm deep.
