SOLD
c.1st / 2nd Century A.D. A pleasant Roman grey ware terracotta bowl found many years ago in Southern Germany and from a Scottish collection. Of typical form with a small circular pedestal base and gently sloping sides opening out to a shallow flared bowl. A piece of humble Roman domestic ware, light surface dirt as excavated, a few very minor knocks here and there from its time buried in the Earth plus a feint but stable crack on one edge, neither detracting, otherwise intact and a decent example of its type, 124mm diameter x 44mm deep
