Product Description

c.9th/10th Century A.D. A pleasant Viking bronze "Dragonesque" strap end found in Cambridgeshire. Of slender form, bifurcated at one end for fixing to the end of a thin leather strap and featuring a distinct representation of a Dragons head with elongate jaws and bulbous nose. Intact and in good condition with an overall green surface patination, a pleasant example of the type, 38mm long x 7mm wide.
