SOLD

Late Dynastic Period c.600-300 B.C. A well modelled wooden facial segment face from a large wood votive statuette originally found in Egypt during the 2nd World War by a British Army Soldier who was working with the Egyptian Government at the time and the wooden face hails from his own small collection. The face is very nicely modelled and has now been mounted into a simple wooden box frame for display. It would have once been covered in painted gesso but is now just wood. There is a minor old knock to the nose as excavated but it is otherwise and in very nice condition for its great age with good sound surfaces. The face measures 75mm tall x 55mm wide, the box frame measures 180mm x 180mm,
