SOLD
Upper Paleolithic c.30,000 to 20,000 B.C. An excellent and nicely worked Upper Paleolithic / Predynastic Egyptian leaf shaped flint knife originally found in the Fayuum area of Egypt in the early 20th Century and from an old Kent collection. Old ink collection number "10" on one side. A bi-facially and well very worked leaf shaped flint knife, very well worked over its surfaces and further retouched along both blade edges almost denticulating them. May have originally been set into a small wood or bone handle for use. Totally intact and in very nice condition with an attractive slightly shiny brown desert patination with just light smoothing to the tops of the percussion ridges from its time buried in the sands. An excellent example of the type, 84mm long x 40mm wide x 10mm thick.
