c.400-300 B.C. .A rare and impressive Celtic decorative bronze neck torc produced by the Thracian Celts that inhabited the banks of the River Danube in Bulgaria. Expertly fabricated from twisting thick bronze wire together and forming loops and hooks on the end for fastening. A feint, almost inpercievable repair towards one end otherwise in very nice intact condition, robust and could possibly still be worn around the neck if desired. From an old West Country collection. A rare item and a very reasonably priced example, Torc 5mm thick and 147mm in diameter.
