A rare, large and heavy Mesolithic flaked Limestone hand pick excavated close to the famous Culverwell habitation site, Portland Bill, Isle of Portland, Dorset and from a Hampshire Geologists collection but originally hailing from an older collection amassed in the 1970's. Trihedral in section, clearly worked and well defined throughout with a good functional tip, a very good example of a large Mesolithic hand tool from a famous Mesolithic site, 165mm long x 66mm at widest x 40mm deep.
