A rare pair of Neolithic pottery shards, Dordogne, France. Ex.Old French Collection.

c.2500-2000 B.C. A rare pair of Neolithic pottery shards found in the early 20th Century in the Dordogne region of France and from an old French Collection. The larger shard (62mm x 50mm) is plain with rough interior side and a darker exterior surface, a slight curvature so most likely from a large storage vessel. The small shard (40mm x 30) is of similar fabric but features two moulded ridges so likely from the upper or rim section of a storage pot. Prehistoric pottery fragments are rare and seldom survives the ravages of time so a great opportunity to add a couple of examples to your own collection, the pair
