c.1st/2nd Century A.D. A Roman terracotta roof tile fragment excavated on the fore shore of the River Thames, London many years ago featuring a dogs paw print impression. These tiles were laid out in potters yards prior to firing in the kiln and at some stage just after the tile had been laid out, the potters faithful dog must have walked over this tile leaving his paw print preserved for eternity. A scarce,interesting and appealing Roman artefact, a must for any Roman collector or indeed a dog enthusiast!, display stand included. 110mm high x 80mm wide x 16mm thick.
