A scarce Early Neolithic Portland Chert flake arrowhead, Portland Bill, Dorset (N126)
Our Price: £33.00

c.5000-4000 B.C. A good and scarce Early Neolithic Portland Chert flake arrowhead excavated close to the famous Culverwell habitation site, Portland Bill, Isle of Portland, Dorset and from a Hampshire Geologists collection but originally hailing from an older collection amassed in the 1970's. Unifacially worked with a smooth underside. Clearly defined triangular form with a medial plateau and blades worked on either side of upper surface with further retouching to further define and enhance the blade edges and tip; totally intact with a pleasant overall white patination, a good example of the type from a famous Prehistoric site, 49mm long x 37mm wide x 11mm at thickest.
