c.2500-2000 B.C. An excellent and finely worked Neolithic "Hollow Base" flint arrowhead found in Rosedale, North yorkshire in 1975 and from an Essex collection. Expertly fashioned from an attractive dark and pale grey coloured flint, very uniform, bi-facially worked and then finely retouched along the blade edges on either side of the arrowhead to further define and sharpen the edges. Expertly fashioned "Hollow Base" creating two small stubby back swept barbs. The very tip of on barb missing otherwise totally intact and in lovely condition, a very nice example of this scarce type of flint arrowhead, 36mm long x 20mm at widest.
