c.1st/2nd Century A.D. A scarce, stylised Roman bronze Phallic Amulet found in the 1990's on the foreshore of the River Thames, London and from an old collection of Thames finds. Clearly amuletic or votive in form, as no sign of suspension loops or fixings are evident. Totally intact, of good sound metal and in very good condition. Has an attractive light bronze tone synonymous of bronze items found buried in the Thames silts. A scarce and interesting item, 27mm long x 11mm at widest x 5mm thick
