c.1300 A.D. A small but attractive Medieval Annualar Brooch with inlays and complete with pin found in the West Country and from an Oxfordshire collection. The circular brooch has six raised circular turrets around its permiter each inlaid with white glass or enamel, traces of which still remain in a few of them. The brooch was probably once gilded (gold plated) but this now lost over the centuries and replaced by a pleasant dark green surface patina. The brooch still has its original pin and is intact and in very good condition with just a knock to one of the inlay turrets. A pleasant little brooch, 20mm diameter
