SOLD
c.2nd/3rd Century A.D. A small but excellent Roman bronze "Dolphin" Fibula / Brooch found many years back in North Yorkshire and from an old Scottish collection. A quite ornate and nicely fashioned little brooch with decorative ridge running the length of the bow and an ornately shaped "openwork" catchplate. Still has original iron spring in situ but pin is lost, as is usually the case, otherwise intact and in very nice overall condition. Probably once silvered or gilded but now just bronze with a darkish olive green patina. A nice little Roman brooch, 29mm long x 19mm wide x 11mm deep
