c.3rd/4th Century A.D. A small but pleasant Roman Military Amphora shaped bronze strap end found in the Midlands and from a Staffordshire collection. Of distinctive amphora shape with engraved concentric circlet design on main body and central rivet at top for fastening strap end to a thin leather strap. Probably once silvered or gilded but now purely bronze with a pleasant dark surface patination. Intact and in nice condition, a pleasant little Roman Military item, 24mm long x 8mm wide.
