c.7th-8th Century A.D. A small but very attractive Anglo Saxon Turquoise opaque glass bead found many years back on a Saxon settlement site in Yorkshire and from an old Durham collection. Of simple form, centrally pierced for suspension but totally unmarked and intact, in excellent condition and still exhibiting a radiant turquoise hue as bold now as when it was made some 1300 years ago, a lovely little bead, 9mm diameter
