Product Description

c.1500-1600 A.D. A unusually small Tudor period Iron dagger still in its original decorative bronze scabbard found in the 1990's in the foreshore silts of the River Thames, London and from an old 90's collection of Thames finds. This unusually small iron dagger (possibly once belonging to a lady?) has now corroded and fused within its original decorative bronze scabbard with just a small stub of the iron tang for the handle visible now, the handle lost in antiquity. The bronze scabbard is largely plain on one side but elaborately decorated on the other side. Pleasant light bronze toning synonymous with finds from the Thames silts. A scarce and interesting Thames find and rare to find an antique dagger still in its original scabbard. 102mm long x 19mm at widest x 8mm at thickest
