Late Neolithic - Early Bronze age c.2300-1800 B.C. A very nice and finely worked Neolithic flint "Barbed and tanged" arrowhead found in North Yorkshire in the 1950's/1960's and from an old established Nottinghamshire collection. Fashioned from an attractive banded light and dark grey flint, expertly worked and pressure flaked with well defined small curved barbs and small stubby tang for fixing into a wooden arrowshaft. Patchy light grey patination good old surface ageing; small knock to very tip of arrowhead (from use) otherwise totally intact and in lovely condition. A nice example of the type, 24mm long x 18mm wide.
