c.1st Century B.C. A very nice and ornate Celtic Semi-Circular chip carved bronze appliqué or inlay found in Cambridgeshire. Of heavy, robust semi-circular form featuring a pair of expertly chip-carved swirling designs on the upper surface. This appliqué / inlay was maybe once silvered or gilded and one of a number inlaid into a decorative casket or similar, intact and in very good condition with an overall green surface patination, a pleasant item, 33mm wide x 15mm deep x 4mm thick.
