A nice Upper Palaeolithic flint flake spear head from Orchaise, Central France, found 1909

Worked from a large thin marbled tan/ grey coloured flint flake with a flat underside, medial ridge on upper surface blade worked either side, with some additional reworking to form a to form lightly serrated and very sharp blade edges and a distinct and still sharp point. The rear of the flake deliberately hollowed to allow for being hafted into a wooden shaft and secured with resin and animal sinue. Original old collection label citing "Orchaise 1909" in ink, still in situ. A very functional and still sharp Palaeolithic flake spearhead, 85mm long x 41mm wide x 9mm at thickest.
