Product Description

c.900-950 A.D. A very rare, complete and excellent Viking woman's "Chatelain" complete with its original implements, originally found in North Yorkshire and from a Durham collection. This particular example is of very robust construction with large suspension loop, and ornate open work frame and from a set of tweezers, an awl, a nail cleaner and small borer/twist drill hang. The "Chatelain" and its implements are in very good condition for their age, of good metal with an attractive overall dark patination, a very nice example of this rare and seldom offered Viking artefact, maximum length 88mm x 37mm wide
