c.9th/10th Century A.D. A Viking period silvered bronze strap, Northern European in origin and from a Suffolk collection. Of elongate tongue shaped form with incised line and pellet decorations on upper surface with traces of original silvering remaining, reverse has remnant of three small fixing rivets, a few areas of nibbling around edges otherwise intact and in good condition for its age, a very reasonably priced example of the type, 42mm long x 17mm wide
