c.A.D.1600-1650. An attractive Ancient Chinese decorative bronze mount in the form of the forepart of a leaping Dragon, once probably part of a group which were affixed to an ornate jewellry box or casket. Originally gilded, feint traces of which remain in parts, otherwise now with a pleasant shiny dark green surface patination. Good surfaces and in very nice condition, an appealing and unusual Dragonesque mount, supplied in display box, 36mm x 24mm
