Hoxnian Interglacial period (MIS11) c.424k-374k BC. An attractive Lower Paleolithic "Clactonian Industry " flint scraper found many years ago at the famous Lower Paleolithic site of Barnham Pit, Suffolk and from an old Norfolk collection. Fashioned from a most attractive mottled honey coloured flint, largely flat underside but worked on upper surface to form a well definned scraping and cutting edge. Intact and in lovely condition, possessing a lovely old surface ageing / patination and a wonderful Lower Paleolithic colouration, a very nice early example from a notable early Paleolithic site, 60mm long x 42mm wide x 18mm thick
