Foxhall Road Habitation site dated to c.400,000 to 300,000 B.C. An attractive Paleolithic Flint Hammer Stone tool found in the early 20th Century at the famous and well documented site of the Foxhall Road Gravel pit in Ipswich, Suffolk. The Hammer stone is fashioned from a most attractive multi-coloured banded flint and shows clear impact marks all over its surface from use. Totally intact and in lovely condition with good  and ageing and and colouration, an interesting example of a Paleolithic hammer stone from a notable Paleolithic site, 54mm long x 42mm at widest x 43mm deep
