c.1st Century A.D. An early Roman (Romano-British) bronze Aucissa fibula brooch found in Essex some years back and from a West Country private collection. Of typical form with its steeply arched bow with a raised and knurled medial ridge along the bow, small catchplate with bulbous final at base of bow. Pin now missing otherwise brooch complete and in nice condition with a pleasant dark green patina, supplied in display box, 43mm long x 13mm at widest x 22mm deep
