c.1200-1000 B.C. An excellent and appealing Bronze Age Cypriot vase with painted geometric decoration collected in the 1960's/70's and from an old West Country collection. An attractively shaped vase fabricated from a buff coloured terracotta with flat base, bulbous body tapering to a small narrow neck and then widening to an out-turned rim. A geometric collar like design of parallel lines and triangles has been carefully hand painted around the shoulders of the vessel in a darker pigment. An area of the design a little faded or abraded by its time buried in he earth otherwise of robust form with good stable surfaces, totally intact and in excellent overall condition for its great age, an appealing vessel from the Ancient Mediterranean, 120mm tall x 103mm diameter.
