Late Neolithic c.2500-2000 B.C. An excellent and very appealing Neolithic ground stone axe found on a farmers field on the outskirts of Cambridge in 1979 and from a Cambridgeshire collection. Expertly fashioned from a pleasant coarse, hard grey granite like stone with a smoothly ground, polished and well defined blade edge. Intact and very nice condition, a good sized, heavy and tactile example,  117mm long x 43mm wide x 38mm thick.
