c.6th Century A.D. A good sized, excellent and attractive Early Anglo Saxon opaque glass bead skilfully made from twisted and fused green,yellow and cream coloured glass. Bead circular, slightly flattened top and bottom, pierced centrally for suspension. An intricately made and high quality bead probably once belonging to a high status individual. Totally intact and in very good condition with lovely colouration, a scarce and appealing Saxon jewellery item, 17mm diameter x 13mm deep, supplied in display box.
