c.2200-1800 B.C. An excellent and finely worked Late Neolithic / Early Bronze age flint knife found in Norfolk. Expertly fashioned from a pleasant semi-translucent dark brown and grey flint with a smooth flat underside; copiously pressure flaked and retouched all around the edges on the upper surface to create finely worked and slightly denticulated blade edges which are still sharp to the touch. A very nicely defined example which probably once had a small tang on the butt end and as such may have been hafted into a small wood or bone handle for use but tang long now lost, otherwise totally intact, in lovely condition with good surface ageing and patination, a nice example, 58mm long x 30mm wide x 8mm thick.
