c.3500-3000 B.C. An excellent and good sized Neolithic flint tanged flake arrowhead found many years back in the Avon Valley, near Fordingbridge, Hampshire and from an old Hampshire collection. Unifacial in form and expertly fashioned in a pleasant pale grey flint from a flake struck from a core. The working on the upper side forming a medial ridge along the arrowhead and clearly defined and still sharp edges with a good functional tip as well as a distinct elongate tang at the base for insertion into the wooden arrow shaft. totally intact and in lovely condition, an excellent and good sized example of its type, 44mm long x 28mm wide x 6mm thick
