Early-Mid Neolithic c.5000-3000 B.C. An excellent Neolithic flint Awl / Borer / Burin tool tool, part of a small group of lithics found on the same habitation site in Holbury, Hampshire, May 1916 and from an old collection. This tool is a nice example, fashioned from an attractive light/dark grey & beige coloured flint, well worked with sharp blade edges and a well defined functional point, a small multi-tool that could have been used for boring holes, cutting, scraping and also engraving other wood or bone items, lovely overall shiny old collection patination, intact and in very nice condition, 57mm long x 25mm wide x 8mm at thickest, a very nice Early Neolithic tool from an old collection.
