Early-Mid Neolithic c.5000-3000 B.C. An excellent Neolithic flint knife / sickle tool, part of a small group of lithics found on the same habitation site in Holbury, Hampshire, May 1916 and from an old collection. This tool is a nice example, fashioned from curved, core struck flake in an attractive light/dark grey & cream coloured flint, well worked with sharp blade edges and a lovely overall shiny old collection patination. Feint old ink inscription on one side citing "Holbury", intact and in very nice condition, 83mm long x 23mm wide x 17mm at thickest, a very nice Early Neolithic tool from an old collection.
