Lower Paleolithic (MIS 11 - 9) c.410,000 to 324,000 BP. An excellent Lower Paleolithic Acheulian unifacial flint borer found some years back in the Ridge Pit gravels at Romsey, Hampshire and from a Hampshire Geologists collection. A good example for this early period with a well defined borer point. Original pebble cortex still intact on rear of borer. In excellent overall condition with an attractive colouration and a lovely old surface ageing / patination, a good sized, tactile and appealing Lower Paleolithic hand tool, 88mm long x 62mm wide x 23mm thick
