An excellent Lower Paleolithic flint awl / borer, found many years back in Fordwich, Kent and from an old Norfolk collection. Fashioned from a most attractive Honey / Toffee coloured flint with a little pebble cortex on the butt end, well worked and featuring a very distinctive worked functional point with further retouching along its edges to sharpen it. Totally intact and in excellent condition with the most attractive old Paleolithic colouration, lovely surface ageing and a smooth shiny patination, an appealing example of the type, 81mm long x 35mm wide x 30mm thick
