Hoxnian Interglacial period (MIS 11-10) c.424,000 to 374,000 years old. An excellent Lower Paleolithic flint pointed hand axe found many years back in Thetford, Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. Expertly fashioned from a large piece of mottled grey coloured black / grey flint with some pebble cortex remaining on one side, well worked on either side and featuring a wide grip end tapering to a distinct functional point. Totally intact and in very good condition for its great age with a good patina, a good Paleolithic hand axe from a notable prehistoric site. 90mm long x 73mm wide x 40mm thick
