An excellent Lower Paleolithic Heavy Butted flint hand axe
found many years ago at Hellesdon, Nr. Norwich, Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. Expertly worked from a pleasant light and dark grey flint, slightly trapezoid in form, unifacially worked with a thick butt forming a good hand grip and a nicely defined and functional tapering point. Totally intact and in very nice condition with good surface ageing, a pleasant early East Anglian hand axe, 100mm long x 77mm wide x 45mm thick
