c.300,000 B.C. An excellent Mid-Paleolithic "Acheulian" bifacial pointed hand axe found many years back in Northrepps, Norfolk and from an old Norfolk collection. Well fashioned from a large, thick elongate triangulated flake of mottled light and dark grey flint, bi-facially well worked with thicker butte end with some original pebble cortex remaining to aide grip in use and a well defined trihedral functional point. Totally intact and in very nice condition with a pleasant surface patination to all worked surfaces, a nice and tactile hand axe, approx. 110mm long, 74mm wide x 36mm at thickest
