c.5,000 - 3,000 B.C. An excellent Neolithic flint Notched Scraper, borer / awl multi-tool found in Orchaise, Central France c.1909 and from an old French collection amassed c.1908-1910. Skillfully worked from a pleasant mottled beige / grey coloured flint flake and featuring worked scraper blade around most of its perimiter, a distict and still sharp boring / awll point and a carefully worked notch often associated with the manufacture of arrows and used for stripping of bark and other imperfections on a thin branch to make wooden arrow shafts. Old ink inscription on underside stating find location "Orchaise". Nice surfaces with good ageing and patination. A well worked and functional Neolithic flint multi-tool, 47mm wide x 45mm deep  x 13mm at thickest.
