c.3000-2500 B.C. An excellent Neolithic flint tanged triangular arrowhead found at West Linton in the Scottish border region. Expertly fashioned from a grey/beige coloured flint, finely and bi-facially worked to form an excellent and still sharp point with nice retouching along edges of arrowhead, pointed triangular tang at base (reminiscent of Neolithic points from Northern Ireland) for fixing into a wooden arrow shaft. Totally intact and in excellent condition with good surface ageing and patination with some feint iron oxide highlights adding to its appeal. A lovely example and of a scarce type, 37mm long x 21mm at widest.
