c.60,000-40,000 B.C. An excellent Palaeolithic Neanderthal [Mousterian] small Bi-face hand axe found at Northfleet, Kent, close to the famous prehistoric site of Swanscombe. A well defined flint flake tool which has been further knapped and re-touched to form a distinctive and functional triangulated point. Fashioned from a pleasant grey / brown mottled flint it has excellent surfaces with nice surface ageing. Details of find site etc supplied with axe. A pleasant and tactile Neanderthal hand axe,  90mm long x 57mm wide x 18mm deep.
