c.3rd / 4th Century A.D. An excellent Roman buff-ware terracotta cosmetic or unguent jar unearthed many years ago in North Africa and from and old Suffolk collection. A pleasant vessel featuring a flat base, a gently bulbous elongate body narrowing slightly at nex with a slightly out-turned rim. A minute chip on one side of rim (not detracting) otherwise totally intact and in excellent condition with good sound surfaces, a pleasant Roman domestic vessel, 94mm high x 56mm diameter
