c.2nd / 3rd Century A.D. An excellent Roman redware terracotta perfume flask (Ungentarium) excavated in Tunisia, North Africa many years back and from an old Bournemouth collection. Very nicely made, robust and well proportioned; it features a shallow domed base, bulbous body with ribbed decoration along its length which narrows to a long narrow neck topped by a small out turned rim. Tiny knock to one side of rim (not detracting) otherwise totally intact and in lovely condition with good surfaces, a very nice example of the type, 75mm high x 34 diameter
